The 2019 Bet9jaSociaLiga season enters its crucial stage this month with the beautiful Legacy Pitch in Surulere set to play host to our SociaLiga stars on SociaLigaMD7 and MD8.

For the first time ever, the BetjaSociaLiga club is battling each other on the lush pitch in the national stadium, Surulere, with all but the All Black football club mathematically still within a chance of booking a place in the playoff. You know you wont find football better than this anywhere else in Lagos. So let’s kick your weekend off with some fun.

It is a serious war come September 14, as there won’t be SociaLigaAfterParty to distract anyone. Six matches are slated for next weekend, with the trio of Royals, Guns and Alimosho to play two matches each.

Leaders, Saints football club, take on whipping boys and already eliminated All Black, while defending champions, Dannaz football club take on Guns, who return to the pitch after missing SociaLigaMD6.

However, the day’s activities will kick off with the match between Royals and Alimosho, two clubs fighting for a place in the top four.

Royals v Alimosho

This game, which will see both sides meet for the first time, is the first of two matches either will play and kicks off at 8:30 am.

These two are separated by just two points, Alimosho sitting fourth on the log on eight points, while Royals are three spots below them on six points. A win for either side will surely boost their playoff chances.

Saints v All Black

his match looks a mismatch on paper, Saints are current leaders and one of the most in-form teams in the Liga right. Unbeaten since the narrow loss to champs, Dannaz on MD4, the Armies are yet to drop points, winning all their matches.

Against the Black Panthers who have conceded the most goals in the division, the Panthers must do what they have only done once this season – hold the leaders to a draw. Mathematically, the season is done and dusted for the Blacks, but they will definitely be playing for pride comes MD7.

Guns v Raineri

This particular game could be a potential cracker if these two would allow the tie run its course. Guns and Raineri find themselves 7th and 6th on the table on five and seven points respectively.

It is the fifth meeting between them, with their last three meetings ending in draws. Dropping points in this game will do either side no favours, however.

Raineri, who are set to be without their manager, Seth Abayomi for the rest of the campaign following his ban, will be hurting after how their MD6 game against Dannaz ended and will be looking to redeem their image with a good showing against the Bullet Boys.

Royals v Citizens

The Royals play their second game of the matchday against the Citizens, a team they have never lost to. When they take to the pitch next weekend, it will be for the fifth time, with the Royals having won three and drawn one of the previous four.

The Royals will go into the game as the favourites, but will be aware that the improving Proud Citizen are two points ahead of them on the log.

MD6 saw both teams drop points, Royals were beaten 3-2 by leaders, Saints, while the Citizens came from behind twice to share the spoils with Cubs. Therefore, these two go into MD7 hoping to return to winning ways.

Cubs v Alimosho

This is another game that will see two teams meet for the first time, as Alimosho’s second match of the day put them against the Cubs.

Surely, with the Herd playing two matches, the Cubs will go into this one the freshest of the two, but know it won’t be a walk in the park.

It is a game between two top four contenders locked on eight points with goal difference separating them on the Liga standings.

Guns v Dannaz

The Bullet Boys have it all to do when they take to the field for the second time, their opponents, the champions, who on their day can tear apart any team.

It is also the first meeting between them, the Cedars will be looking to consolidate on their win on MD6, while Guns plan will be to close the gap between them and fourth-placed Alimosho.
