After a review of the incident that occurred on Matchday 3 (8th June, 2019) between Guns FC’s Head Coach, Ifedotun Ojobanikan and the match officials as well as the fight between two of Guns FC players in the stands, The Football League has decided the following:
1. Ifedotun Ojobanikan shall pay a fine of Fifty Thousand Naira (N50,000) for kicking the ball at the match officials in anger.
2. Ifedotun Ojobanikan shall serve a 3-game touch line ban. (A violation of this would result in a stadium/venue ban).
3. Guns FC shall pay a fine of Ten Thousand Naira (N10,000) for failing to control its players.
The Football League has formally informed the Lagos State Referee Council that the two match officials, Kade Oluwafemi and Oladuso Segun who threatened to beat Guns coaches (Ifedotun Ojobanikan and Oluwamayowa George) not be allowed to officiate at a SociaLiga event for a period of 3 months. The Football League has also requested that the incident be dealt with by the Lagos State Referee Council as their guidelines permit.
