Charges On Gross Misconduct By The Raineiri Ghost FC (Matchday 6)

As part of their commitment to more transparent disciplinary proceedings The SociaLiga Football Department has made public the outcome of the Appeal made against their punishment for the regrettable scenes at Matchday 6 where they staged a walk off.

A letter response to the Management of Ranieri read as below

After further review of your case following your hearing on Tuesday, 27th August, 2019, The Football League has decided on the following:

1. The trio of Abiola Ajayi, Johnson Ojurongbe and Seth Abayomi shall serve their life bans as well as venue bans as decided initially.

2. The Raineri Ghost FC shall pay a One Hundred Thousand (N100,000) fine for its failure to control its staff and bringing the game to disrepute as initially decided. However, The Football League has decided to reduce the points deducted from 3pts to 1pt which will be reflected in this season’s standings.

This brings the matter to a close and no doubt will serve as a deterrent to all other participants

I like and respect how SociaLiga handles disciplinary issues. We must all improve our behaviour and professionalism as players and team officials. It’s good that it starts from the amateur leagues like this. Maybe the professional leagues will learn from it
