In what is surely the most anticipated final day in recent times in the most-watched league in the world, Chelsea and Manchester United find themselves in a rat race for a place in next season’s UEFA Champions League.
With three clubs fighting for just two spots, the permutations are off the roof and Massive Dub spoke to the duo of Edoho, the reigning Dub champion, and celebrity Chelsea fan, and Kenna, who is the first-ever Massive Dub winner and Manchester United banter lord, to get their opinions ahead of an explosive Super Sunday.
It’s just a point separating third-placed United, who are away to fifth-placed Leicester, the other team involved in the race, but according to Kenna, the Red Devils have a very good chance to seal a return to the Champions League.
“United have a good chance to qualify based on the fact they’re on an unbeaten Premier League. run, ” Kenna said. “They just need a draw to qualify for (the) Champions League, ” he added.
Indeed, United last lost in the league back on January 2, just before the COVID-19 break, when Burnley defeated the Reds 0-2 at Old Trafford.
However, despite a run of 13 unbeaten games in the league for United, Kenna is concerned about Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s ‘in-game management’ as he reflected on the disappointing outing against West Ham the last time.
“Ole’s in-game management is suspect. But it is also possible there is an element of fatigue that has set in and the players are limping across the finish line.”
Meanwhile, at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea host a very stubborn Wolves side and showbiz star, Edoho has a very important message for namesake, Frank Lampard, the Chelsea boss.
“At this point, I don’t really know, ” Edoho said of Chelsea’s Champions League chances against Wolves.
“It all comes down to Lampard’s lineup – two crucial things – don’t play Kepa (Arrizabalaga) and Jorginho, ” he thundered.
“I have been saying this for almost two years and people don’t get it. If you put Jorginho in the middle of the pitch, we are sitting ducks – there is nothing you can tell me. If you put (Ngolo) Kante there or (Billy) Gilmour, who are both out, we’ll have a chance.”
“So, Lampard can maybe tweak it, put Kovacic in the middle, if it’s a double pivot, and (Ross) Barkley or (Ruben) Loftus-Cheek. It’s all about the lineup, if we do that, we stand a shout, if not, Adama Traore is going to bully Jorginho.”
On who should be in goal for the Blues, the Who Wants to Be a Millionaire host was caught between the devil and the deep blue sea.
“I don’t even like Caballero as a goalkeeper, but i think experience has a lot to do when you are standing between the sticks and Caballero has more experience.”
Major concerns from our Massive Dub winners, but do you agree with their concerns? Will Chelsea and Man United qualify for the 2020/21 Champions League?
