Bet9jaSociaLiga: Why SociaLigaMD4 is a vengeful weekend

Like play, like play, the 2019 Bet9jaSociaLiga is almost halfway through as we enter Match Day four (4), SociaLigaMD4, this weekend.

MD4 on Saturday is surely one that you cannot afford to miss. No kidding. Did you just ask ‘why?’ Okay, read on. . .

The SociaLigaMD4 is one match day that some ‘bitter’ teams have been waiting for as they will storm out for nothing but revenge on the pitch at the Rehabilitation Center in Isheri, Magodo.

This action-packed piece takes a cursory look at three of the biggest vengeful clashes on MD4, and you aren’t ready for it!

Take a seat, let’s take you on a wonderful journey of what could be the making of fierce rivalries in the Bet9jaSociaLiga.

Raineri 🆚 Saints - The Ghosts Finally Get Their Chance

These two SociaLiga veterans kickoff what will be a super MD4 and really, it doesn’t get any bigger than this.

Easily the biggest game of the day, it is the battle for supremacy when second-placed Raineri face two-time winners, the Saints football club.

Two points separate both teams, with the away side, Saints in fifth, trailing Raineri, who albeit have played one more game.

Saints players celebrate one of their goals during the 2017 Christmas Festival.

But this game is one that Raineri have waited a while for in their bid to banish the Ghosts of that heavy loss to their visitors two seasons ago.

Saints were comprehensive winners when both sides last met, winning 4-1 in the 2017 Christmas Festival grand finale to lift their second consecutive Liga crown.

Since then, the home side has waited in vain to revenge, coming close last season when fate pitted the two against each other in the third place playoffs.

Raineri won 3-0, but that result came via the boardroom as Saints failed to show up and we’re subsequently walked over.

Therefore, it may have taken two years but the Raineri will finally have the chance to avenge that demolition when they meet this weekend at SociaLigaMD4.

What to expect?

Raineri has scored seven (7) goals in three matches this season, while Saints have scored three (3) in two.

The Ghosts have also conceded six (6), compared to Saints’ two (2) in as many matches. So, there will be goals in this one, perhaps you have to prep for a goal-fest.

Citizens 🆚 Dannaz - What Will Danny Have to Say?

Last week, making the rounds on Twitter was a viral video of Dannaz football club manager, Danny Nazzal, mocking fellow Liga side, Saints.

The 2018 Liga winner was taped mocking the two-time winners after their fourth successive victory over the Saints Army on SociaLigaMD3.

This weekend, however, Danny and his defending champions come up against the only team to have beaten them in the Bet9jaSociaLiga, Citizens.

So, the question on the minds of everyone is, ‘what will Danny have to say?’

Citizens host Dannaz in what will be the third competitive clash between the two, with the previous two ending in one win apiece.

Like the game between Saints and Raineri, Manchester United-placed Citizens and Dannaz (third) are separated by just two points, with the latter having played a game more.

Danny was visibly angered when his side lost 2-1 to the Proud Citizen, and it is left to he saw what he and his boys will do to the team that brilliantly put an end to their dreams of going the entire 2018 season unbeaten.

Danny, what do you have to say?

What to expect?

Haha, this is going to be fun, apart from cameras following Danny’s every reaction on the dugout, these two have not been as convincing as they can and need to be.

Nevertheless, expect goals here as well. The previous two games between them have produced a total of six goals, an average of three (3) per game.

Citizens 🆚 All Black - The Black Panthers Can Defend Sha

On a very high key level, this is the third and final game with a cloud of vengeance hovering over it.

The Black Panthers, All Black FC, as our friends at www.citizensfc.wordpress.com have kindly called them, may have the leakiest defence in SociaLiga, but when they face the Citizens, they sabi defend.

To give perspective to how worrying the Panthers’ defensive third is, they have conceded a whopping sum of 23 goals in just eight matches (8) between last season and the current campaign.

To give perspective to how worrying the Panthers’ defensive third is, they have conceded a whopping sum of 23 goals in just eight matches (8) between last season and the current campaign.

That is the most by any team in the Bet9jaSociaLiga. Seven (7) of those goals have come this season, also the most by anyone in season three (3).

But how come they seem not to let in as many against the Proud Citizen? Are the Panthers their bogey team?

It may well be the case given the concept of bogey teams is a well-known one in the football world. It has to be the case, right? It has to be!!

This game, which ends SociaLigaMD4, will be the third meeting between the two, with the Panthers winning two of their previous encounters. They have scored four goals and conceded just once against the Citizens.

Fun Stat: Citizens perhaps are the only side in SociaLiga yet to take a point off All Black.

The Citizens bench can't figure what's going on...

What to expect?

This game will reveal if SociaLiga has unearthed the first bogey team. Five goals in two matches also point to goals being in this game.

All Black have scored five (5) goals this season, compared to just two by Citizens. I don’t like the look of this one at all. Haha.
