Bet9jaSociaLiga MatchDay 3 : What We Learned

Matchday 3 of the 2019 Bet9jaSociaLiga season was an intense day of football. There were slim victories, strong battles for points, clean sheets, angry managers, solid defenders, great saves and beautiful football on show. Here are 5 things we learned from MD3 action

1. Games have gotten tighter

From 25 goals on MD1 to 16 Goals on MD2 to 9 Goals on MD3, it is obvious that Liga games have gotten a lot tighter now. Everyone is a threat and teams have recognised this. All teams now enter games with a more conservative approach. We saw five 1-0 wins in 6 games at MD3 as a result.

2. Dannaz Ladies and Alimosho Ladies are very solid defensively

Three matchdays into the season, neither team has conceded a goal. Both teams have outstanding goalkeepers but their defending is solid. While Dannaz avoid pressure by all-out attacking, Alimosho contain pressure brilliantly while hitting teams on the counter.

3. Guns are shaky when passing out from the back:

Guns are known for playing to their strengths, making use of the height, aerial ability and physical strengths of their forwards Ariyo and Zlatanheir. On Saturday against Citizens, they tried to mix it up sometimes by passing it out and it almost ended in disaster every time. They are clearly not yet suited for that.

4. Dannaz FC now have the mental edge over Saints FC

The highly anticipated SociaLiga El-Clasico saw a continuation of history as Dannaz FC won a fourth straight game against Saints FC. They seem to have gotten a psychological advantage over Saints now and their manager, Danny Nazzal, echoed the same post-match.

5. Clanzee will take Cubs to great heights

He may have just scored one goal on Saturday but Clanzee made a big impression on all who watched the game between Cubs and All Black. His intelligence on and off the ball were on show and he could have grabbed a hattrick easily, if his teammates spotted his runs. He would be key for Cubs.
