4 Crazy Things That Happened During The Football Weekend

It has happened again. We have seen another football weekend of crazy and amusing occurrences. As we have said before, a lot of weird things tend to happen every once in a while, and sometimes, if you blink, you will miss it. Last time, we saw Ajax score 13 goals with one person being directly involved in 8 of those goals. We saw a guy get a red card 5 minutes after coming on, with his only contributions being 2 fouls leading to two yellow cards. So what happened this past weekend? Let’s see.

1. Shaquille Pinas said NO

Ado Den Haag lost 4-0 to PSV Eindhoven. Yet, it could have been worse if they did not have this guy named Shaq. When you see a name like that, you already know the person is destined to be a good defender, or close. Well, at least for a period. Against PSV, Shaq made an incredible 3 clearances off the line! It’s hard enough to clear the ball off the line once. This guy did it three times. Add to that, he also blocked 5 shots, made 5 interceptions, and 2 tackles, all without committing a single foul. It takes a lot for a defender to stand out in a 4-0 defeat. Salute to Shaq!

2. Valencia, Getafe, and bad blood

Everyone remembers the great El-Clasico rivalries of the past, and the brutal era during the Mourinho – Pep days. But there’s a rivalry in Spain that has gone under the radar a lot – Valencia vs Getafe. Half the time, it ends in brawls, fouls, and red cards. This weekend was no different. The drama was electric.

Valencia led 1-0 until the 87th minute when Getafe equalized. Then Getafe went ahead in the 94th minute and Valencia equalized with a penalty in the 100th minute. Of course, that’s not all. Getafe committed 25 fouls, had 5 yellow cards and 1 red card. Valencia committed 18 fouls, had 8 yellow cards and 1 red. Basically, the game saw 43 fouls, 13 yellow cards, and 2 red cards. There was also a red card for Getafe that was canceled after VAR review. In the last 9 games between these two teams, there have been 78 yellow cards and 8 red cards.

3. Eden Hazard scored a goal

Yes, you are reading it right. Eden Hazard scored a goal for Real Madrid. That is a crazy occurrence. His last goal for Real Madrid, which was his first-ever goal for them, came on 5th October 2019. That was nearly 13 months ago, more than a year.

4. Lazio won a game they were losing by the 94th minute

5 minutes were added with the scoreline showing Torino 3 Lazio 2. Torino thought they had grabbed the winner when they went ahead in the 87th minute. Ciro Immobile equalized through a penalty in the 95th minute. And Felipe Caicedo grabbed a winner in the 98th minute. If you had put your money on a Lazio win, you would probably have been dealing with a possible heart attack minutes before the 2 goals flew in. But what is football without drama? And what is betting without a little suffering? Serie A = drama.
