Saints Ladies v SCN Ladies

Two playoff favorites meet for the second time this season. When they first met, SCN Ladies totally outplayed the defending champions and ran out deserved 2-0 winners. Saints’ gung-ho attack was a costly mistake against SCN Ladies’ extremely pacey forwards when they first met. They poured players forward and kept a very high line. Every single time an SCN player made an interception, all they had to do was hit a 30-40 yard over the Saints’ defense line and their pacey forwards would handle the business. Chukwueke Anita was a handful for Saints on that day providing a goal and an assist and Saints Ladies would have to be weary of her on the 11th of August.

Saints Ladies are in a much better form now, though. They halted a red hot Knights Ladies in a 1-0 win in their last game and would looking to carry that momentum forward. With players like Danielle, Abiola and Nwabueze in decent form heading into this game, a much better showing is expected from the defending champions as they both aim to make the playoffs in October.

Bravos Ladies v Knights Ladies

A 2nd loss to Saints Ladies during their last time out wasn’t exactly how Knights Ladies planed things would go. They’d started the season with a statement 5-1 win over SCN Ladies in their opening game. Nwanze Awele Natasha and Ayo Okotcha were the stars that day and it seemed like they were heading for another Regular Season without a loss. Perhaps they had too much vengeance in their hearts when they faced Saints Ladies and they lost a little bit of focus. Against Bravos Ladies, they have a chance to get their season back on track over a team they claimed victory over twice last season.

In what was to be their first meeting in 2017, Bravos Ladies’ failure to show up resulted in a walk over and an automatic 3-0 win awarded to the Knights Ladies while Anita and Ojay scored both goals when they met the second time in a 2-0 victory for the Knights Ladies. Ojay’s goal, a beautiful finish from a tight angle to wrap up a swift counter-attacking move. With Knights Ladies a much more improved side from last season, they’ll be aiming for a repeat of that performance.

For Bravos Ladies, their search for their first SociaLiga win and goal continues. Last season, they finished with 1 draw and 4 losses with no goals scored and, of course, they failed to make the playoffs. A lot has been invested into this season, and they’ll be aiming put in a better showing than they did last season.
