Bet9jaSociaLiga: Raineri battle ready for Guns, says ‘confident’ Seth Abayomi

Abayomi said that his wards are more than ready to finally put an end to their poor run against the Guns. I believe so,” he said, when asked if Raineri can get a win over Guns. “We have prepared adequately and our fans will be roaring us to victory. I can guarantee we are prepared to give a good account of ourselves, we [are] in a good position [so] no pressures at all.”

Raineri football club boss, Seth Abayomi, says his high flying outfit is more than prepared for their 2018 Bet9jaSociaLiga playoffs match against Guns FC on Saturday.

Raineri and Guns kickoff what is expected to be a beehive of activities at the Vocational Center in Isheri, Magodo, as the Bet9jaSociaLiga playoffs take center stage.

Both sides will be meeting for the fourth time, with the Ghosts yet to taste victory against the Bullet Boys.

However, during his pre-match press chat, the affable Abayomi said that his wards are more than ready to finally put an end to their poor run against the Guns.

“I believe so,” he said, when asked if Raineri can get a win over Guns. “We have prepared adequately and our fans will be roaring us to victory.”

“I can guarantee we are prepared to give a good account of ourselves, we [are] in a good position [so] no pressures at all.”

The game on Saturday is the third time Raineri are battling Guns this season and according to their manager, they now know enough about their opponents to soar to victory.

“Sure, they are a familiar foe, I’ll be surprised to see something different [from Guns] on Saturday, a good side at sitting back. I have enough knowledge about their team.”

Meanwhile, Abayomi also reacted to claims by his Guns counterpart that his Raineri side poses no “troubles” to the Bullet Boys.

In their previous three meetings, Guns have won one, with the other two games ending in draws. But the meme-able Abayomi, in his reaction, says that his opposite number is free to say whatever he likes as the Ghosts are known to deliver when it matters the most.

“He has the freedom to say whatever he likes , I’m sure he has prepared his boys for battle, but I’ll rather you ask him again after final whistle.”

“You only need to look at our records, we are known for winning games when it matters most and playoffs is the most important game of our season. [So] I am confident our fans would be smiling at the end of the day.”

On what the key will be for his side against Guns Abayomi added;

“I will simply be telling the players to keep their cool and play the way we have been playing, approach the game like every other game.”

The game between Raineri and Guns is one of six games lined up for the playoffs this weekend, and kicks off at 9am.
